The Alaska Center for Resource Families (A project of Northwest Resource Associates)  provides training, information, and support to the foster and adoptive families of Alaska. Families who care for children who come through the foster care system are special.    With their hearts, these families can provide what children really need-- a safe place to be while parents are working on their issues or maybe even a "forever" family.  Supporting these families can come in big gestures or small gestures.  A chance to talk with an experienced resource families over a cup of coffee.   Materials to help a child make a "lifebook" as he moves into an adoptive home.  A little extra help to assist a foster child go to a museum or a sports event and participate in a normal family outing. Even if you cannot foster or adopt yourself, you can support a family who can. ACRF reaches out to all foster and adoptive families in Alaska through training, information, and support.
